An incredible showing from the areas Class of 2011 as we saw play after play and over 15 players that we feel can play at the Division 1 level. This group had the crowd in a frenzy throughout the event with their stellar play.
•Dantiel Daniels6’5Holt (pictured)
Was a man amongst boys in the post at this event as the humble Daniels scored at will and threw down tons of vicious dunks throughout the entire event. Daniels is a super strong player that bullies his way on the boards and around the block to get things done and is a stellar rebounder on both sides of the ball and was on top of his game at this event. Several spectators thought Daniels was going to break down the rim with his thunderous dunks.
•Jordan Wilson6’1Hazelwood Central
A lethal shooter that hit several 30 foot three pointers at this event as his range is off the charts. Wilson showed at this event the ability to run the point and get others involved. Don’t get it mistaken Wilson also found time to get his offense going also and showed a great mid range game and good jumping ability as he threw down a couple nice dunks in transition.
•Christian Thomas6’5Clayton (pictured)
A sweet surprise performer that had most of the coaches in attendance asking who the heck he was as Thomas put in one of the top three performances in this class at the event. Showcasing a very strong frame and great athletic ability as he threw down several rim rocking jams including maybe the play of the event as he went chest to chest with a fellow classmate and finished with a strong thunder dunk that drove the observers crazy. Thomas also showed good guard skills and projects as very strong and tough wing on the next level.
•Dominic Kacich6’0CBC
Kacich is an incredible shooter that when given time knocks it down with a very high percentage. Kacich has a good basketball IQ and does not force many shots as well. Didn’t do much ball handling at the event as he was looking for openings around the perimeter.
•Charles Joy6’5O’Fallon (pictured)
Joy was on top of his game at this event and put on a complete show from beginning to end. Last years MVP of this class didn’t disappoint this year as Joy was attacking the rim off the break and utilized his great strength and athletic ability to throw down several dunks. Joy also looked good handling the ball and on the defensive boards. When Joy goes hard he is one of the top wings in this class.
•Curtis Churchman5’5Hazelwood Central
Churchman is quick and smart and that combination is lethal and that is just what Churchman was at this event. Pushing the ball and making the right play at every chance the small but strong Churchman was probably the top lead guard in this class. Churchman just made it easy for his teammates and also himself as he scored several buckets off the bounce.
•Brendan Kelly6’5Chaminade (pictured)
Kelly showed at this event that he is a physically strong wing player that is a lights out shooter and very skilled ball handler with the ability to create his own shot. We here at Rameybasketball.com think that the very confident and tough Kelly is being under recruited by many schools and is easily one of the top wings in this class and maybe the strongest and most skilled.
•Eldright White6’1Wellston
White played with a great deal of energy and showed flashes of skill when given the opportunity. Scored many buckets in transition and showed good form on his jump shot. White’s best attribute came on the defensive end as he got after it at every given chance. Should be a vital part of Wellston this upcoming season.
•BJ Young6’3Hazelwood Central (pictured)
Could have been the MVP of this class as Young was the most talented player at the entire event but he missed the first game due to a school function. Young was his ordinary self, an electric scorer that scored on cylinders at this event. Rather it was shaking the socks of defenders and hitting deep step back three pointers, getting in transition for dunks, creating for others with eye dropping passes, slashing to the rim with a very quick first step BJ Young was just down right dominant.
•Seth Jackson6’3CBC
A very strong performer that attacked the rim with regularity at this event in games we saw. Jackson showed a strong dribble drive game and also the ability to hit the open jump shot with range out to three. Jackson also laid down a nice one handed dunk over two defenders. With Jackson’s strong frame he should fit well on the next level.
•Chris Jacobs6’1Desmet
We didn’t get to see Jacobs get many chances at this event but we did see him handle the ball and make plays for teammates on occasion. We also saw Jacobs hit a couple of long range bombs with great form.
•Ben McClemore6’5Wellston (pictured)
There is probably not a more gifted athlete in the area than McClemore and he didn’t disappoint at this event. Attacking the rim at every chance McClemore laid down tons of draw dropping dunks and finishes over defenders. We also saw better ball handling from McClemore at this event and also had several nice passes to set up teammates for easy buckets. McClemore has gotten more comfortable and confident with his outside shot also. One of the top performers in the entire event.
•Sean Carr6’5Imagine Academy
Carr had several nice dunks at the rim and loved to challenge opponent’s shots. Carr also rebounded the ball well and ran the floor like a deer at this event and looked like a good prospect that should have a breakout year for Imagine this upcoming year.
•Kris Weinstock6’9Ft. Zumwalt South (pictured)
Weinstock is a big and strong post player that is gaining confidence with his ability as he has good touch around the basket. Weinstock has good hands and gets decent position on both ends. In games we saw Weinstock kept the ball up high at every chance and didn’t force much on the offensive end from the post.
•Lamar Colvin5’10Holt
Did a nice job running the team when given the chance and also played off the ball to look for his jumper. Loved to use the step back to get jumper off. Also looked to push the ball the break and set up teammates for buckets. Competed at a high level and looked confident at times.
