Championship Sunday Recap
The Cavaliers reigned supreme as they topped the Pistons 55-45 in the semifinals and defeated the Nuggets in the championship 70-55. See below for complete recap of championship Sunday of the 2008 Rameybasketball.com Fall League.
In the first semifinal game the Cavaliers capitalized on several turnovers and 14 missed free throws by the Pistons to post a 55-45 victory. In the victory Scott Pohle hit 3 three pointers in leading a balanced attack with 13 points. 6’7 TJ Brown scored 12 points in the victory also. 6’1 Bobby Peebles led the Pistons with 13 points while regular season MVP Will Kirksey was held to 10 points.
The other semifinal game turned out to be the best game of the entire fall league as the Nuggets and the Bulls put on a show in a game that went back and fourth to the very end. 6’5 Missouri State commit Jerome Jones scored a game high 22 points including 5 thunderous dunks and 6’10 Will Clark added 15 points including 4 monster jams. The Nuggets got great play from 6’2 Tim Cooney who scored a team high 19 points including 5 points within 3 seconds. 6’5 Alex Tilley also came up big in the victory with 15 points. Down by three points with 13 seconds to go 6’3 Dylan Briscoe connected on a deep three to tie the game, but with overtime just seconds away 6’6 Will Triggs converted on a driving layup with only 1 second remaining on the clock giving the Nuggets the 67-65 victory.
In the All-star game Team 1 defeated Team 2 67-59 with 6’2 Wendell Crowder taking home the MVP award. Crowder showcased a good offensive game with several eye dropping assist and also displayed great defense. Below is the box score from the All-star game.

In the championship game the Cavs were in control from beginning to the end enroot to a 70-55 victory over the Nuggets. In a game that looked like the Nuggets left everything in their previous game a more determined Cavs team outhustled the Nuggets in leading from the beginning to the end. 6’7 Crossroads junior TJ Brown took home the playoff MVP award in scoring a game high 20 points. 6’7 Edwardsville senior James Edmond scored 15 points in the defeat to lead the Nuggets.
