Rameybasketball.com presents a run down of all the happenings from around the areas basketball scene.

Webster Groves senior wing Vinnie Raimondo has signed with the Univeristy of Missouri-St. Louis. The 6’4 strong wing was a starter the last two seasons for a highly productive Webster Groves team that on a state title during his junior season. Raimondo who played AAU basketball for Team Rameybasketball.com is a hard worker that thrives in the mid range game and on defense. This a good fit for UMSL and head coach Chris Pilz who also got two transfers in Alonzo Wrickerson of Meremec Community College and Central Missouri State transfer Zach Redel (both were Webster Groves graduates also) aboard for this upcoming season.

6’7 Lafayette senior post Will Kirksey has opted not to attend Quincy University next season and has signed to play this fall at Junior College heavy weight Southeaston Illinois.

Former McCluer North grad and Southern Illinois freshman Torres Roundtree will attend Southwestearn Illinois Community College in Belleville, Illinois next season in hopes of returning to the Division 1 ranks.

Francis Howell senior duo of Ryan Henkleman and Cody Sorenson have signed with their future schools as Henkleman signed with Lindenwood University and Sorenson signed with Maryville University . (Maryville will be a Division 2 school this upcoming year.) Both players were standouts over four years at Howell and both had great summers with the Gateway Basketball (J-Rock) team. Other players off that team that are headed to the next level include the aforementioned Kirksey, and 6’9 Michael Hoffman of Gibault  will play at Washington University in St. Louis this upcoming year. Gateway J-Rock team members: Korian Harrington of Belleville East (Missouri) and Brandon Washington of John Burroughs (Arizona State) received full academic scholarship and will be students and respective schools while Althoff senior Will Lawson has signed to play football at Kansas State.

Former Chaminade and Drury star Alfred Nelson has decided to transfer and will attend Lindenwood this fall. The 6’7 Nelson was a key reserve for Drury and is considered a major coup for Lindenwood.

Congrats to former Kirkwood and Missouri star wide receiver Jeremy Maclin on being selected #19 in this past weekend NFL Draft to the Philadelphia Eagles. We wish Maclin all the best.

Coaches there are still top notch players available including:

6’9 Andrew Dahle of Lindbergh

6’4 Bryce Foster of Hazelwood Central

5’7 DeShaun Cooper of Jennings

6'7 Alen Hadzimahovic of Fox

And many many many more……. College Coaches PLEASE Contact me via email for info on all unsigned players.

6’3 Chaminade sophomore Brad Beal is off to a red hot start this summer with the St. Louis Eagles on the AAU circuit. Beal is tearing up all competition in leading the Eagles to a runner up finish at the prestigious Boo Williams tourney in Virginia and a tourney championship in the Old School Classic in Conway, Arknasas. Beal a silky smooth shooter is being recruited by the likes of Kansas, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, and many more and is primed to break in the top 30 nationally.

6’2 Edwardsville junior guard Kuna Lahoi-Tumagoi put on a show over the weekend in the Midwest Showdown Shootout put on by Rameybasketball.com and is a true sleeper for the class of 2010. A strong and athletic guard that plays with a fire like none other is a definite under the radar performer that will make a name for himself. Tumagoi has now joined Team Rameybasketball.com 17U for the remainder of the spring/summer and is thus far the hidden gem in his graduation class.
