6’0 Chaminade High School senior point guard Brandon Lockhart has decided to play this upcoming year at Division 2 powerhouse Drury University. Lockhart who rates as one of the top area prospects had a tremendous senior in helping lead the Red Devils to their first ever state championship.
Congrats to the Southwest Illinois Jets AAU program out of Belleville, Illinois on winning the 15U Bronze division of the Adidas May Classic. The Jets dropped their first two games in pool play before costing through the Bronze division tourney. Team members include: Ofallon High School guard Roy Bullock, G/F Elijah Kinmon, and Forward Michael Jackson, E St Louis Sr High guard Brandon Johnson, Alton High school forward Shane Mathews, Edwardsville guard Josh White, and forward Diarra Cropper, center Kendall Smith of Belleville West, and Montez Williams, and Keenen Lawson of E St Louis Sr High.
5’8 Jennings High School senior standout guard Deshaun Cooper has decided to play this upcoming year with Division 2 power Northwest Missouri State. Cooper had a steller senior season for the Warriors and rates as one of the top senior area guard prospects.
Recently named Tennessee State head coach John Cooper is a real good dude that wants to tap into the St. Louis Metropolitan area for recruits.
Congrats to former Saint Louis University Head Coach Brad Soderberg on recently being named the head coach at Lindenwood University. Soderberg inherits a good Lindenwood team that competes on the NAIA Division 1 level.
The Demetrious Johnson Charity Allstar game will be held on June 27, 2009 at Harris Stowe State University. This annual game is considered the areas top high school all star game that pits the top local athletes versus top national athletes that consist players from around the nation. The local roster tentatively is:

5’10 Durand Sain of East St. Louis headed to Morehead State
6’0 Brandon Lockhart of Chaminade headed to Drury
6’2 Alex Bazzell of St. Charles West headed to UMKC
6’3 Lonnie Boga of McCluer headed to UW-Milwaukee
6’4 Keith Pickens of Oakville headed to Missouri State
6’4 Bryce Foster of Hazelwood Central who is Undecided
6’5 Jerome Jones of Career Academy headed to Missouri State
6’6 Michael Porter of Sikeston who is headed to Missouri State
6’7 Will Kirksey of Lafayette who is headed to Southeaster Illinois Junior College
6’7 Connell Crossland of Hazelwood Central who is headed to Highland Junior College
6’10 Will Clark of Rockwood Summit who is headed to Texas Southern

Northern Iowa assistant coach Ben Johnson is a top notch recruiter that is looking at several area prospects.
Former Belleville West star Jeremey Felton has decided to attend Western Illinois this upcoming year. The 6'6 athletic Felton was considered one of the top mid major prospect in the midwest coming out of high school and has had two very productive seasons at Juco heavyweight Mineral Area under Corey Tate.
Congrats to Terrance Hamilton who was recently named head coach at Normandy High School. Hamilton was the assistant coach at Miller Career Academy last year for a team that finished fourth in Class 4A.
