Missouri State University assistant coach Jon Harris is a hard working coach that loves our areas talent.

6’3 Madison, IL High School senior to be Xavier Williams is a sleeper to watch this upcoming year and in July. Williams is a strongly built combo guard that has great athleticism and shoots the ball well from deep. Williams’s teams with another top athlete in senior to be 6'5 Eric Mason at Madison as both also compete with the SW IL Jets.

Another SW IL Jets team member that caught our attention was 6’7 senior to be Ronald Lawson of East St. Louis High School. Lawson who is the brother of Althoff C/O 2009 graduate Will Lawson is a stellar shot blocker that has off the charts athletic ability which allows him to finish over the top when around the rim. Lawson is also considered one of the top Volleyball players in the Midwest and is getting attention from several high major schools including UCLA for Volleyball.

6’5 Dearis Tate of McCluer High School has had a very productive spring thus far while competing with Team Rameybasketball.com. The highly athletic and long Tate will be a junior this upcoming season for head coach Erwin Claggett and the McCluer Comets and figures to be one of the conferences top players. Tate has a great skill set that allows him to not only score in the paint but also face up with range out to 18 feet and the ability to put it on the floor and blow by defenders.

UW-Milwaukee assistant coach Michael Chad Boudreau is a quality guy that grew up just outside the Metro East in is very intrigued by this areas talent and has picked up the interest on several area players.

Reminder that the Demetrious Johnson Charitable Foundation Annual Local vs National All Star game will be June 27, 2009 at Harris Stowe State University. Please stay tuned for complete rosters and more info.

6’9 Edwardsville High School senior to be Nick Anderson has made great strides and is developing into a nice player that should be a major contributor on a good Edwardsville Tigers team that should be one of the tops in the Metro East. Anderson has enjoyed great success this spring while playing with the St. Louis Salukis on the AAU circuit.

Former Alton High School and Lewis and Clark Community College standout Justin Sims has signed on to play at Illinois-Springfield next year. UIS competes on the Division 2 level.

Congrats to Phil Hunt on being promoted from Assistant Coach to Head Coach at Harris Stowe State University. We here at Rameybasketball.com wish Coach Hunt all the best.
